Maurice Chappell is a lifelong community advocate whose passion for empowering inner‑city youth began when he was still a young man himself. Raised in Brooklyn with a strong Christian foundation, he helped launch C.A.T.S.—Children Against the Streets, a grassroots movement created by local teens determined to protect and uplift their neighborhood. Through summer programs, youth tournaments, and mentorship, Maurice and his peers gave young people real alternatives to the streets and inspired others across the city to do the same.

That early work shaped his calling. For more than three decades, Maurice has remained committed to creating safe spaces, building confidence, and guiding youth toward purpose, discipline, and opportunity. As a former athletic director, he witnessed firsthand how quickly the world changed for young people—and how urgently they needed support, structure, and hope. His mission has always been to show them their value, strengthen their abilities, and help them pursue rewards earned through hard work, not harmful choices.

As the Founder and Event Coordinator of the JUS DUE Marathon Foundation, Maurice continues that legacy. His leadership is rooted in faith, resilience, and a deep love for the community that raised him. Every initiative he leads reflects his belief that when we stand together, invest in our youth, and keep God first, we can transform lives and neighborhoods—one step at a time.
