A.C.T.I.V.E.

The Jus Due Marathon Foundation A.C.T.I.V.E. Program which stands for Advocating Community Training Inspiring Vision & Equality continues to look for creative ways to advocate for positive change in our youth. The A.C.T.I.V.E program rewarded two Westerly Hills Academy students who had achieved academic milestones by attending a Charlotte Hornets game.

Mentorship

The Jusdue Marathon Foundation has adopted Westerly Hills Academy elementary school which aligns with a goal of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg public school system to increase students’ test scores. Our members actively greet students and have lunch with them on a regular basis; and are available to act as proctors, field trip supervisors and volunteer for field day activities. We expect to adopt other schools in the future as our mission is to be a catalyst for positive change in our youth.

Community Service

The Jusdue Marathon Foundation has sponsored and been a resource for several community service projects. The foundation supports a local women’s shelter by sponsoring a back-to-school drive for their students by giving away backpacks filled with school supplies. The foundation also sponsors families from that shelter during December by donating supplies and giving financial assistance to help alleviate the mothers’ concerns for the holidays. A goal of the foundation is to build relationships in the community and to be an example for other residents to become involved in community service work. Other ways we continue to accomplish this is by collaborating with Charlotte Parks and Recreation in the Queen City Clean-In and organizing bike rides within the city of Charlotte and volunteering at the City Bridge, Inc. Bridge Learning Academy after-school program.
